Week 2006 04 30

Filed under: swimming training — andy @ 3:01 pm

Lunch time training commences at Newlands 50m outdoor pool next week - come rain or shine!

The distance will start at 1km and get incrementally longer, while the temperature will get incrementally colder; it’s a moot point where the two will converge, or at what temperature the sessions will start getting shorter again! My idea is to start "joining the dots" between the training sessions, so that the water becomes "home."

  1. Hi Andy,

Just came across your training log, I am also attempting Solo Channel Swim this summer. My week begins on the 28/08/06. I am located in Kinsale, Ireland. Have been doing Pool work for the past number of months. Got back into sea last friday, temp 11.5C. Have been doing 1 hour each day since trying to build up resistance to cold. going to alternate between pool and sea until 5th June and then do all sea work… Drop me an email if you receive this message and we can compare training…
