  10. I see the technophile’s enthusiasm has got the better of his perfectionism. Which is probably the way it should be at a time like this.

  12. Andy, this is quite fantastic news, I knew you would do it, but must say that I have resorted to clearing out my garage whilst you swam, so that I could pop in and out to check on your progress (its taken me nearly as long as your swim!!)

I am SO glad that you and Cecilia are coming up to see me at the weekend, I never thought I could boast to my friends that I was having a successful Channel swimmer to stay – the fridge is stacked!!

CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU AND THE ENTIRE TEAM!!!

    With Admiration and Love, Maureen

  25. You are amazing people. Not only would I be incapable of such an astonishing physical feat, but I doubt I would have the selflessness to encourage Dieter in a similar endeavour. At the first sign of a perverse current or a nippy wind, I’d have nagged him out of the water and into some sensible clothes. Well done, you wonderful people! With much love from all of us, Birgitta, Dieter, Rebecca, Clara & Inez
P.S. Clara was most perturbed by your having reached the French coast, Andy, and wanted to know if you’d started swimming back yet!
Rebecca is brimming with pride… What an incredible godfather!

  34. A VERY GOOD morning to you and Cecilia. Huge congratulations to you Andy. There was no doubt that you would succeed in this mammoth task! I am so happy for you and can just imagine the smile on your face. Elation takes on a whole new meaning! I know how proud Cecelia is feeling. Bask in your glory – you truly deserve to. Don’t forget to write your name on the wall at the White Horse. Hugh would love it if you can write as close to his name as possible. Enjoy the rest of your stay and I look forward to the celebrations when you return. Lots of love. Fran.
